AATF Member Benefits


Individual Member

AATF membership runs on a calendar year (January 1 - December 31). Individual national dues are $55.

*Emeritus membership is available for those who are aged 55 or over, who have been active (paid) AATF members for at least ten (10) consecutive years and are currently active (paid AATF members), and who are retired. Please contact the AATF staff to request Emeritus status.

Student Member

AATF membership runs on a calendar year (January 1 - December 31). Student membership is discounted to $27 per year.

Proof of student status (current student ID, copy of schedule) will be required for all who request this membership type. Please send proof of student status to the AATF staff to ensure timely approval of membership.

Alliance Française de Dallas (AFD)

Non-profit cultural and educational center that promotes the French language and Francophone cultures in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Aside from offering French courses for all ages and levels, they also organize and host Francophone cultural events.

Texas Foreign Language Association (TFLA)

Non-profit organization that serves language educators across Texas by providing professional development, resources, and advocacy. They also support teachers in implementing state standards like the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Languages Other Than English (LOTE).

Southwest Conference on Language Teaching (SWCOLT)

Non-profit regional World Language teachers' organization whose purpose include disseminating and publicizing information, data, and materials which promote, develop, and enhance the study and teaching of languages together with their literature and cultures;  recognizing and publicizing excellence in second language study and teaching; and promoting the work and interest of state language organizations.

American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)

Non-profit national organization dedicated to improving and expanding the teaching and learning of languages at all levels of instruction. They provide vision, leadership, and resources to support educators, set national standards for learning, advocate for the importance of multilingualism, and develop tools to assess student language proficiency.
