Description: The Department of World Languages, Literatures & Cultures in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor of French to start in August 2025. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment.
This non-tenure track Instructor will teach four classes in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The Instructor will teach elementary and/or intermediate-level French classes and required courses for the French major and minor, including Survey of French Literature and Introduction to Literature. We are especially interested in a candidate with the appropriate level of education and qualifications who might be able to teach a graduate-level course (Survey of French Poetry)." The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community. Initial appointment is for a period of one year with the possibility for renewal. The opportunity for reappointment will be based on performance and continued need. For the annual renewal, candidates should provide at least one year of evaluations as instructor of record illustrating high quality teaching effectiveness.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications:
With submitted materials, the candidate must demonstrate
MA in French or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. or terminal degree in French or a related field
Demonstrated teaching experience in face-to-face and online formats
Salary Information:
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
