JNCL Student Advocacy Academy Nomination Form

The JNCL-NCLIS Student Advocacy Academy (SAA) is launching its inaugural cohort this fall. This four-session virtual program gives high school juniors and seniors and undergraduate students the opportunity to build on the skills they're already developing in your classroom.

Throughout the Student Advocacy Academy, students strengthen their research, communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills while exploring language advocacy and learning how ideas can become action. Participants will work with students from across the country as well as experts from many areas of advocacy, business, and education to engage in interactive discussions, and develop an advocacy action plan that encourages them to think beyond the classroom.

For many students, this may be their first opportunity to see how the work they're doing in school connects to leadership, civic engagement, and future careers. It's an experience that reinforces what you're already teaching while helping students build confidence in their own voices.

If you have students who are curious, engaged, and looking for ways to grow beyond the classroom, we hope you'll encourage them to learn more about the Student Advocacy Academy. Registration is open now and limited to only 50 students nationwide.

AATF will cover the $50 registration fee for up to five students and register them directly with JNCL. Students who are learners of French and show an interest in language education advocacy are encouraged to apply. Registered participants will participate in four virtual live sessions and receive a certificate of completion. 

The deadline to apply is September 15, 2026. Recipients will be notified and registered directly by AATF in late September.
