2026 Convention Call for Proposals
Forms/Applications
99th Annual Meeting - American Association of Teachers of French and the American Association of Teachers of German
July 11-14, 2026 - The Westin Copley Place, Boston, MA
“L'Union fait la force!”
New this year: Because of our joint convention with AATG, please note the following changes:
- there will be no 3-hr workshops
- AATF Commission sessions will not be automatically accepted, but will be evaluated like all other proposals
- Presenters whose sessions have been accepted will be sent the Google form in which to confirm their session after they register for the convention
Important dates: All submissions must be received by December 15, 2025. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your proposal when you complete the check-out process. A copy of the proposal will also be available via your Member Compass (AATF members), once you complete the check-out (purchase) process. You will be notified via e-mail by February 15, 2026 about the status of your proposal (accepted, declined, waitlisted).
Types of proposals: Proposals may be related to any area of language, literature, culture, pedagogy, or linguistics touching any area of the French-speaking world. Presentations may be given in French or English. Please use the language in which you are most comfortable. Give your title and description in the language of presentation. Presentations are to be given as lectures or talks. Please do not simply read a paper aloud. Audience interaction is strongly encouraged.
Panels/Multi-presenter sessions: If you wish to organize a session with several presenters, only the lead presenter should fill out and submit this form. The lead presenter/session moderator should submit an overall description listing the co-presenters and the session description.
Session room equipment provided: All rooms will be equipped with a video projector and internet. However, you will need to bring your own laptop or other device and speakers, if you plan to show a video/clip. Mac users will need to bring a dongle.
Presenter limitations: Each participant may be the principal presenter on only one session. Preference will be given to proposals submitted by AATF members. Presenters must be 2026 AATF members to participate in the convention and must register for the convention to present. Any session that is presenting a commercial product or service must be scheduled as an exhibitor session. There are no exceptions to this.
Inquiries only: AATF staff Robin Anderson, events@frenchteachers.org
