SHF-Andégo Scholarship

In partnership with the AATF (American Association of Teachers of French) & SHF (Société Honoraire de Français), Andégo Internships Abroad seeks to recognize and reward those students committed to French language study through our immersive Gap Semester/Year internship. 

Scholarship applications are due Friday, March 27th at 11:59pm Pacific

The Andégo scholarship committee hopes to make decisions within 10 days of the deadline and will notify all applicants via email.

Andégo will award up to four (4) $1,000 scholarships and two (2) $2,500 scholarships towards participation in our

Language Assistant Gap Year Internship

Applicants must:

  • Be a member or officer of an active charter of the Société Honoraire de Français

  • Have completed an initial application to and be otherwise eligible for the Andégo Internships Abroad Language Assistant Internship

  • Be at least 18 by the start of their internship (September 2025)

  • Submit a letter to gapyear@andego.org explaining how receiving this scholarship would positively impact your ability to more fully benefit from your year abroad.  Be sure to reference your motivations and goals for spending a year immersed in France during this school-based internship as well as specific activity in your SHF charter promoting the appreciation and study of the French language.
  • Request a letter of recommendation from someone OTHER than your French teacher or a family member sent to gapyear@andego.org commenting on your commitment to academic success & community building (community being the community at large or those with whom you come in contact- classmates, teammates, neighbors, etc.).

 

Andégo's Language Assistant Internship includes:
  • Paid internship ($450/mo stipend) as an English Language Assistant in one of our 45+ partner schools.
  • Room and board included (dorms, host family, studio).
    • Always have a host family on weekends and school holidays.
  • Earn up to 8 300-level transferable credits through Pacific University (OR).
  • Earn a full year towards your degree at Pacific University (OR).
  • School holidays free for travel.
  • On-site orientation in Angers, France
  • Participant forum to connect with past, present, and future interns.
  • Individualized guidance throughout the visa process.
  • Experienced team in the US & in France available for support throughout the year.
  • Needs-based scholarships available
