Description: Falmouth Academy seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Full-time French Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in French language instruction and a demonstrated commitment to engaging and inspiring students in grades 7–12. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Teach Middle and/or Upper School French courses (levels to be determined)
-Develop course materials, including syllabi, assignments, assessments, and cultural
enrichment activities
-Assess and evaluate student progress and performance
-Design and revise curriculum content and instructional methods in alignment with departmental goals
-Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress
-Hold regular office hours to support and advise students
-Serve as a student advisor and actively participate in advisory programming
-Contribute to the co-curricular program by coaching, advising a club or activity, or their
equivalent
-Participate in professional development and school-wide evaluation efforts
-Attend and support school events, including occasional evening or weekend commitments
-Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in French, World Languages, or a related field
-At least two years of classroom teaching experience preferred
-Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
-Enthusiastic commitment to teaching and mentoring adolescents
-Demonstrated ability to create inclusive and engaging learning environments
-Flexibility to meet classroom, advisory, extracurricular, and community obligations
-Legal authorization to work in the United States
-Preferred Qualifications
-Advanced degree in French, Education, or a related field
-Experience with interdisciplinary, project-based, or proficiency-based language instruction
-Familiarity with ACTFL standards and language acquisition frameworks
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
-Ability to work on a computer and at a desk for extended periods
-May occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
-Work occurs primarily in a traditional classroom and office setting
-Must be able to navigate outdoor campus spaces in varying weather conditions
Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000
