Contest dates and extensions in light of school closures due to COVID-19

Our guiding principal is fairness to the students. Many students have already completed their testing and we cannot delay results indefinitely. Since many schools are now closing or will be closed, and we do not want to be unfair to these students either, we have adopted the following schedule:

Contest Dates

Original tests dates

February 22 – March 29– Students tested either at school or remotely with a proctor* – eligible for all awards.

Extended testing period

March 30 – April 12 - Students tested either at school or remotely with a proctor* – eligible for all awards.

Starting April 13 we will begin to compute national results and will send results and awards to teachers whose students participated prior to April 12.

Late Testing Window

April 13 – May 1 – Students tested either at school or remotely with a proctor* - eligible for all awards, but these will be provided on an addendum.

May 2 - May 24 – Testing will be available/live, but students will be Hors Concours only and not eligible for national awards or rankings.

*We understand that some schools may be completely closed and that teachers will be using distance learning techniques. The online Contest is perfect for this situation. However, students MUST BE PROCTORED. If students are NOT proctored, they will be Hors Concours and ineligible for national awards. Please contact us for details on proctoring your students virtually. We will require teachers to complete an attestation form confirming the students were proctored.
