Motions Passed by the Executive Council and Delegate Assembly
2010 to present

AATF Executive Council Meeting
Philadelphia, PA, July 2-3, 2010

It was moved that:

  1. The agenda for the 2010 Executive Council Meeting be approved with the addition of Strategic Planning.

  2. The minutes from the 2009 Executive Council Meeting in San Jose be approved as amended.

  3. That the AATF Placement Bureau be discontinued.

  4.  That the AATF Société honoraire de français be returned to National Headquarters.

  5. That the proposed budget for FY2010 be approved as amended, including $23,000 for dues to the Joint National Committee for Languages/National Council for Languages and International Studies, approximately $5000 for annual dues to the Fédération international des professeurs de français, $1500 for the Walter Jensen Scholarship for Study Abroad, approximately $60,000 for honoraria, $6500 for AATF Commissions to be distributed as funds are applied for, $5000 each for AATF Small Grants and National French Week Grants, $10,000 for National French Week, approximately $3200 from interest from the Endowment Fund to cover an additional scholarship to Quebec, $2500 from interest from the Endowment Fund for a one-time contribution to the Joint National Committee for Languages/National Council for Languages and International Studies, $5000 from interest from the Endowment Fund for a Recruitment Campaign, and $2500 from interest from the Endowment Fund for the Leadership Program. 

  6. That Lisa Narug’s term as Director of the National French Contest be renewed for the term 2011-2013.

  7. That the AATF Membership Directory be discontinued beginning in 2011.

  8. That Christine Gaudry-Hudson (Susquehanna, PA Chapter) and Stephanie Schechner (Philadelphia Chapter) be candidates for Region III (Mid-Atlantic) Representative (2011-2013).

  9. That Patt Webb (Tennessee Chapter) and Fred Toner (Ohio Chapter) be candidates for Region V (Southeast) Representative (2011-2013).

  10. That Barbara Gilbert (North Texas Chapter) and Janet Smith (Houston Chapter) be candidates for Region VII (South Central) Representative (2011-2013)

  11. That Sister Mary Helen Kashuba (Philadelphia Chapter) and Madeline Turan (Nassau, NY Chapter) be candidates for AATF Vice-President (2011-2013).

  12. That Malika Mokeddem, author, Christopher Pinet, former Editor in Chief of the French Review, and J. David Edwards, Executive Director, Joint National Committee for Languages/National Council for Languages and International Studies, be named Honorary Members of the AATF.

  13. That the AATF Executive Council meeting be adjourned.

Resolutions 2010

Be it resolved that the Executive Council and the entire AATF membership on the occasion of the 83rd annual meeting held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from July 2-3, 2010 offer their gratitude and deep appreciation to the following individuals and organizations that have made important contributions to the success of the meeting. The AATF

  • welcomes Abbe Guillet, Region II Representative, Catherine Daniélou, Region IV Representative, Ann Williams, Region IX Representative, Edward Ousselin, Editor in Chief of the French Review, and Michel Gueldry, Managing Editor of the French Review, to the Executive Council, and welcomes Steven Daniell, Vice-President, to a full term.
